Stock! Or the temporary lack of it!

Friday, January 20th, 2017 by Robert Tearle

Some of you may have noticed recently that items of stock are missing the ‘buy now’ button and are showing Not currently for sale. Like to see it return? Comment below. If you have an interest in one of these items we would encourage you to do just that!

Not only will this speed its return to stock it allows us to focus on what you hungry modellers want next for your collection. Once back in stock we will personally email you to say that it is available again. It is still our aim to return everything to stock but for a variety of reasons this has not been possible in recent months.

Items will be returned to stock in order of popularity with a proviso that large and complicated items may be bumped down the list as they are time consuming to produce. We hope you will be patient and understand that we will get to all of you eventually.

Good things come to those who wait!

Merry Christmas to all!

Thursday, December 15th, 2016 by Robert Tearle
Christmas orders can no longer be guaranteed for overseas customers and there is only a few days left for stock items for UK customers.

You may have noticed that some items are marked with ‘Not currently for sale. Like to see it return? Comment below.’ With such a big range its hard to keep everything in stock so please comment against the kit you want and we will endeavour to re-stock it as soon as we can.

Sometimes a component of the kit is unavailable and it may remain off sale for some time but in most cases it is in a queue to be made on a demand basis. Once you have commented we will contact you by email once the kit is back in stock and it will be reactivated on the site.

Its been a busy year with the development of the new website. We therefore have not had a great deal of time for the development of new kits. We do, however, intend to get back into the saddle in the new year. Thank you to all our customers for their continued loyalty and patience. Please feel free to contact us as always via the contact link (top right of the page) or comments below.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Accurate Armour

A Finger on the Pulse!

Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 by Robert Tearle

Monday the 10th of October, in unseasonably bright sunlight for the West of Scotland, saw the visit by Steve Ellison with his Land Rover Pulse Ambulance. Steve was kind enough to make a trip to our beautiful corner of the world to let us measure up, and to take in the views and culture. Good luck on your travels Steve, hope the weather holds up! And yes, the sirens still work!

BUYER BEWARE - UPDATED

Monday, September 26th, 2016 by Derek Hansen

Buyer Beware!

VICARA Military Sculptures and Plaques in England are selling a 1/35th scale Ferret model on a base which they claim to be “hand-crafted by their specialist sculptors in the North East of England”. IT IS NOT.

This product is based on our original Accurate-Armour Ferret Mk-2/3 kit designed for us by a well known modelmaker in Kent which has been built, filled, figures added, then moulded and recast and sold on a base. This is a blatant rip-off and we would advise anyone who has purchased this for themselves or as a gift to demand a full refund from Russell King at VICARA . And please report him to UK Trading Standards at the same time.

UPDATE FROM VICARA:-

Any information regarding Casting process, Military sculptures, Models or Copyright issues, please contact the Manufacturer ‘Olde Earth Castings Ltd. So according to Russell King at VICARA it is this other company in Northumberland and directed by Martin Gorman who are the North East of England “Hand-crafters”.

http://s612385324.websitehome.co.uk/OE/collections…

All information welcome.

Look at his site (and the manufacturers site) and you will see many other products which appear to be cheap plastic kits designed in Japan, Korea, China etc. subjected to the same bogus “hand crafted in the North East of England” recasting. Another blatant violation of Trading Standards law, and our advice for customers is the same as above.

Finally, adding insult to injury there appears to be the recasting of UK military badges and logos. Really?! ALL UK armed services badges, crests, and logos are MOD Crown Copyright!

Look at the images above posted by VICARA on Facebook (now with our text) and their own web site; look at his site:- http://www.vicaramilitarycollectables.co.uk/

Those of you around the world who have our Ferret kit (built or not) can compare for yourselves what you have with those images and it should only take you a few seconds to see what we mean.

Designing and manufacturing original work in the UK is a hard way to make an honest living for a small family run business like ours, so having our designs and products ripped off by opportunistic thieves with no morals will not be tolerated. Please share, re-post, forum post, tweet and copy so that as many people as possible are aware of these rip-offs. Thank you very much for reading.
