Combat Enginner Tractor (CET)
This is the standard configuration FV180 Combat Engineering Tractor (CET) which is designed to carry out digging, recovery, lifting and river bank preparation tasks in a combat zone. The vehicle is of aluminium construction and is fully amphibious, using tracks and a pair of hydro-jets for propulsion. An unusual feature is that the two crew operators sit ‘back to back’ in the special cupola and either can fully control the vehicle and equipment. The CET entered service with the British Army in 1978.
This extensive 1:35th scale model by Tim Babb depicts a vehicle in digging configuration and comes complete with all tools, cables and fittings. An extensive etched brass detailing set is provided and includes a selection of etched number plates. Decals for other markings are not included but are available from our general decal sets. Two further versions (K052S, and K052J) depict vehicles fitted for swimming and lifting respectively. All these models have been supplied to the UK defence community.
