Ferret Mk 2/3 ARV
This model depicts the Ferret Mk 2/3 fitted with recovery equipment to produce an air-portable Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV). The conversion was carried out in 1962 on vehicle ‘00 DC 24’, by a REME LAD unit attached to the Royal Horse Guards, and was named ‘Audacious’. As the smallest ever British ARV, it is a very unusual and unique subject, which did see extensive service.
This extensive model by Jon Bottomley comes complete with full interior, new etched brass detail set with number and name plate stencils, and PSP plating. A complete set of recovery tools, equipment, metal jib and extensive stowage is also included. This model includes a comprehensive colour decal set with authenticated number plates, weight disk, tyre pressures and many other standard vehicle markings. Full colour illustrated instructions are provided. The model kit is simple to construct but with no compromises on detail and satisfying for both novice and experienced modeller alike.
Special thanks from us to the late Steve Cruickshank (“BARV”) and the REME Museum for assistance in completing this unique project. Our 10 Ferret & CVR(W) model kits form a unique ‘mini’ collection of classic British military vehicles
